Ethnic Rhinoplasty/Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Rhinoplasty

In his practice, Dr. Slupchynskyj specializes in Ethnic Rhinoplasty, African-American Rhinoplasty, Hispanic Rhinoplasty, Asian Rhinoplasty, and Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Rhinoplasty. He sees thousands of ethnic patients whose aesthetic goals are the same as those of non-ethnic (i.e. Caucasian) patients. They desire proportionate attractive facial features and want to reduce those features that are displeasing to them. Dr. Slupchynskyj’s ethnic patients almost never seek to change their appearance so as to be more European looking. They do not want to Westernize their noses. Instead, they clearly just want to improve their appearance through Rhinoplasty with subtle changes to the nose while preserving their ethnicity.

Every nose is unique in shape no matter what the patient’s background. Noses of people from various ethnic backgrounds share common anatomical and aesthetic features and yet many do not. Nasal bones, dorsum, cartilage and nasal tips can all vary as can skin thickness which absolutely must be taken into account performing Facial Surgery and specifically Rhinoplasty Surgery.

Many of Dr. Slupchynskyj’s Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Rhinoplasty patients exhibit a bony dorsal hump and a downward pointing nasal tip. While they request reduction of the nasal bridge and elevation of the nasal tip, they do not want to erase their ethnicity, which is part of their very unique and beautiful features. They simply desire to improve the appearance of their nose, profile and bring their facial features into balance through Middle Eastern Rhinoplasty. Mediterranean and Middle Eastern patients also tend to have thicker skin as do his African-American, Hispanic and Asian patients.

Am I a Candidate?

Anyone who is in good health, is over the age of 16 can have Rhinoplasty performed, for cosmetic and/or functional reasons. Rhinoplasty can repair anatomy due to injury or trauma, restore breathing issues, as well as greatly improve one’s appearance.

Middle Eastern Rhinoplasty Surgery Procedure

Rhinoplasty Surgery can be performed in Dr. Slupchynskyj’s AAAASF Accredited Surgical Suite or in one of the top New York City Hospitals in which he has privileges. His surgical techniques are always customized to his patient’s unique nasal anatomy and their desired result; therefore, the procedure time can last anywhere from one hour to two hours. Also important is whether the surgery is a Primary Rhinoplasty (first time) or Revision Rhinoplasty. Revision nose surgery may involve scar tissue removal, or nasal implant removal, which requires more time. Dr. Slupchynskyj never rushes through any surgery. He schedules his patients accordingly so he has ample time to take care of their specific needs, as well as be available during their recovery immediately following surgery.

Quick Recovery

Due to Dr. Slupchynskyj’s proprietary Rhinoplasty techniques, most patients experience little swelling and bruising following surgery. Dr. Slupchynskyj never uses nasal packing, which can impede a quick recovery and even contribute to swelling. Patients typically return to work and normal activities in a week to two weeks. The nose will continue to heal and refine over about a 12 month period, though your results will be immediate after surgery.
